Vice Chancellor’s Message
I welcome you all to the web-world of “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur. It is my deepest honor and immense pleasure that I got the opportunity and responsibility along with the duty to build a new public university named “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur” in the southern district of Pirojpur. The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur is located around two-hundred kilometers south of the city of Dhaka and four kilometers north of Pirojpur town. As a founder Vice-Chancellor, I have to inaugurate its journey of establishment from almost zero level and then I have to solve a big package of multiphasic problems and challenges in the days to come. The Bangabandhu SMRSTU Pirojpur started its all-out journey on April 13, 2022, by passing a bill (Act) in the Bangladesh National Parliament. Then I took charge as a Vice-Chancellor from the Honorable President of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who is also the Honorable Chancellor of all Universities in Bangladesh. Thus, The “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur” is a very new and 53rd public university in this country.
The university is going to start its academic program by the academic session 2023-2024 which will be effected in 2024. Four academic departments under the two faculties will be primarily, started which are Mathematics, Psychology, Statistics, and Computer Science & Engineering. The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur is going to be designed based on the modern academic Master plan and structural Master plan to achieve a national vision and mission in light of global standards, while the ultimate goal of the university is :
“A University should be a place of light,
of liberty, of innovation, and of learning”.
