Department of Psychology

Chairman's Message

I would like to start by welcoming you to the psychology department. The scientific study of behavior and mental processes is known as psychology. Psychologists analyze, clarify, forecast, and regulate behavior. Psychology both contributes to and draws from other academic disciplines. For instance, Wilhelm Wundt (1832–1920), the founder of scientific psychology, was a physician by training who studied physiology at the doctorate level. Therefore, it makes sense that physiology and medicine would have an impact on psychology. For instance, the interaction between physiology and psychology is known as biopsychology, a subfield of psychology. However, organizational psychology, one of the subfields of psychology, has made significant contributions to our knowledge of management. Workplace theories are essentially psychological ideas used in a work environment.
