Mathematics is a great motivator for all humans... Because its career starts with zero and ends at infinity.
Welcome to the “Department of Mathematics” at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Pirojpur. This department attempts to create an environment of educational excellence, both in academic and research. It is my great pleasure to invite you to explore the Department of Mathematics through our website. At present, the department has four faculty members and two supporting staff. Faculty members in the Department of Mathematics at this University conduct research in the areas such as Fluid Flow, Computational Fluid Dynamics, MHD Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer, Mathematical Modelling in Biology, Non-linear Systems, Numerical Simulation of Mathematical Modelling of Nano-fluids, Mathematical Modelling of Business Optimization, Computational Combustion Dynamics, Fire Dynamics, Single and Multiphase Combustion Dynamics, Micro-Combustion Physics, Mechanism of flame stability, Flame accelerations and its transition to flame Inability, Flame and Vortex Interaction Dynamics, and Complex Chemical Reaction Path Analysis in Premixed and Diffusion Combustion Systems. Our faculty members are publishing their research findings in various reputed international and national Journals and also presenting their works at various domestic and international conferences. The department has its own modern Computational Lab and a Mathematical simulation Lab having 30 high-quality computers, MATLAB software, FORTRAN software, Mathematica software, COMSOL Multiphysics software, Ansys Fluent software, OpenFOAM software, Techplot software, Paraview software, Gridgen software, FieldView software and other supporting facilities are equipped to continue the research works in our Department. Our dedicated and internationally recognized faculty members are committed to ensuring a top-grade education that prepares our students to successfully enter the job market or continue studies at the postgraduate level.
I express my gratitude to all the faculty members, students, guardians, officials, and staff of the department for their hard effort and dedication to the development of this department as well as this university.
At present, we offer the following degree:
- BSc Honors in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics started its journey on August 24, 2023, and its academic program from the session 2023-2024. Each year 40 students are enrolled in this department through a very competitive central examination under the GST admission system. The department is located in the academic building (1st Floor).
